This week YOUNG GIFT’s committee took it upon themselves to hand out food, socks and toiletry packs to the homeless in Charing Cross. Well over 60 homeless people in the area received the packs. Members of the committee also took their time to reach out to chat to recipients. This is the first time the committee has run this type of volunteering effort and plans for a Young Professional group to go out and help the homeless at least once a month.

Michaela Krantz, Physiotherapist said ‘it was an amazing experience to be able to help the homeless in this way. So many had degrees from high end universities or had been in the army fighting for our country and who have unfortunately fallen on hard times and ended up homeless. Just spending some time and treating them with the dignity they deserve was a very emotive experience.’

R’Sandor Milun, GIFT’s Managing Director said ‘It is incumbent on us to be giving to others less fortunate than ourselves. The Young GIFT committee did a brilliant job tonight and we are delighted to be helping so many individuals from our community and beyond in so many different ways.’
