Tali celebrates her Batmitzvah by thinking of others

21/10/21Tali celebrates her Batmitzvah by thinking of others

Batmitzvah girl Tali Field together with her family and the food collection she organised for charities GIFT and Foodbank aid.

When deciding how to celebrate her Batmitzvah, Tali Field, a JFS year 7 student, told us that after a year of volunteering together with her family & friends at GIFT‘s London Hub, she felt inspired & compelled to do something meaningful for the community and to organise a food collection.

She explains  “GIFT is an amazing charity and for my Batmitzvah I wanted my friends and family to join with me helping the community by donating necessary food for GIFT & for Foodbank aid to distribute.”

Michelle Barnett Founding Director noted “We were so grateful to have had Tali, her mum Debra, together with their family & friends volunteering over lockdown; and their food collection on the occasion of her Batmitzvah has been a real help to our foodbank. Supporting over 1000 people across London & Manchester with weekly food support parcels means that we are in constant need of additional food supplies & new sources.

If you, your street, shul or school would like to do a food collection for GIFT please contact us on info@jgift.org or call 0208 457 4429. For meaningful Bnei Mitzva opportunities contact Esther on Esther@jgift.org
