Husband & wife team raise thousands for charity at Royal Parks Half Marathon

12/10/21Husband & wife team raise thousands for charity at Royal Parks Half Marathon

Husband & wife, Antony & Simone Snow, from Borehamwood, have raised an incredible £9,000 from over 100 donors split between charities GIFT and the Oli Leigh Trust for running the Royal Parks Half Marathon earlier this week.

Antony explained  ‘We chose GIFT as a charity through my son Kobi who was volunteering for them during Covid. Kobi got us involved delivering food for people as the charity helps so many people with so many different needs irrelevant on your background. We also choose to support the Oli Leigh Trust as we are very close to the family and they also do great work in helping teenagers in need. We initially hoped to raise £1000 but have been blown away to raise almost £9,000! We had booked into the race last year but unfortunately it got cancelled so actually be able to complete the run was amazing as we had been training and talking about it for so long.’

Roxanne Stross GIFT’s Community Engagement Coordinator commented, “Antony and his family have been incredible volunteers, going above and beyond the normal volunteer requests, from collecting car loads of fruit and vegetables every week, delivering food support parcels as well as GIFT’s Giving Kitchen cooked meals to those vulnerable and unable to cook for themselves. Antony gives many hours of his week to help others and we are incredibly grateful for his love, support & dedication. ’”
