GIFT volunteers spread seasonal cheer!06/01/20
GIFT volunteer family Goodman from Hendon, spent the winter holidays volunteering and doing acts of kindness with charity GIFT.
Attending a packathon, packing food parcels for over 1000 of GIFT’s recipients and then delivering support packages, mum Natasha & dad Elliot, got the giving bug and wanted to do more!
The family then visited Hendon Fire Station on Xmas Day to cheer up firefighters who were working throughout the winter holidays; giving them decorated mugs, mince pies and doughnuts.
The mugs had been beautifully decorated by pupils at North West London Jewish Day School on Mitzvah Day at a GIFT education session, to be given out to police, nurses and firefighters in appreciation of their service to the community.
Keren Pinhas, GIFT volunteer coordinator, told us “ Over the winter break it was so great to see such a range of volunteers dedicating time out of their holidays to give back to the community. From children, to teens and adults of all ages; it was lovely to see how excited they were to be involved. The Goodman family was a great example of this, Elliot Goodman who delivers food parcels to our GIFT recipients and who ran the Maccabi Community Fun Run with this family, brought them along to volunteer. A week of giving left the family with a great feeling and with huge smiles on their faces!
