05/12/19GIFT smashes a 36 hour matching campaign for the Giving Hub

Starting from 1st December, the first Sunday after Black Friday, in an attempt to offset the consumerism of Black Friday, GIFT ran a fundraising campaign to encourage the community to donate to their Giving Hub.

In a 36 hour, campaign GIFT raised an incredible £300,000, which will go towards GIFT’s Giving Hub, the cornerstone of GIFT’s education, volunteering and supporting work. 102 teams got involved with the campaign to secure almost 1900 donations!

GIFT’s Giving Hub also acts as a centre of giving, based in Hendon, it is the location for GIFT’s weekly packathons and distribution centre. Each year the GIFT Hub enables the distribution of over 13,260 food support parcels, 31,200 loaves of bread, over 23,000 individual items of food collected from donated items via GIFT boxes and collections. GIFT provides food support parcels for over 250 households in need every week.

Each year the GIFT Giving Hub enables 27,720 attendances recorded at education sessions culminating in… 25,800 acts of giving by school, university students and Young Professionals. GIFT’s volunteer army spends 38,360 hours volunteering through various initiatives supporting those in the community in real need.

Michelle Barnett, GIFT’s Founding Director, “I am thrilled with how every element of the community has come together to support GIFT – from our amazing volunteers and donors to those who receive our services! The money raised will help GIFT to continue providing a vital role in inspiring the next generation of givers, enabling so many acts of giving and ensuring those most in need are provided for!”

Rabbi Sandor Milun, Managing Director, “I am totally blown away by the enthusiasm and wonderful outpouring of giving by the community to get behind this campaign. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported GIFT”.
