Belinda’s exquisite lockdown crafts14/01/21
17 years ago, a youthful young lady, Belinda Rodin contracted a virus causing inflammation on her spinal cord. This left her legs paralysed and her arms and upper body severely disabled. Since then, Belinda has suffered steady deterioration and was diagnosed with a debilitating neuro-inflammatory disorder, called neuromyelitis optica. It is a daily struggle of numerous physical impairments including mobility, respiratory, gastrointestinal, visual, continence and many others. She also has relentless, excruciating pain.
Despite these trials and tribulations, Belinda tackles life with a consistently positivite attitude and a remarkable ability to always see the bright side. This, together with her extraordinarily enthusiastic and philosophical outlook on life, is a true inspiration to all those who know and love her.
Lockdown has been particularly difficult with no visitors allowed. Belinda has kept very busy building beuatiful crafts, which is challenging with limited sight and only movement in hands not arms. As GIFT is a charity that has supported Belinda over the years, she would now like to ‘Give it forward’ and make these crafts to order for a donation for GIFT.
